What Is Astrology?
Astrology is the study of how the alignments of the stars and planets are believed to affect our lives. The Babylonians are believed to have had the first organized astrology system which approximately more than 2,000 years ago.

The Greeks are responsible for the signs that we know of today although there is strong believe that there are Chinese, Indian and Egyptian influences also.

The signs we see today are:

Aquarius: January 20–February 18

  • The symbol for Aquarius represents water.  They are said to be confident, creative and impulsive and ultimately loners.

Pisces: February 19–March 20

  •  This symbol is supposed to represent two fish tied together by a rope swimming in opposite directions.  Pisces are said to be compassionate, adventurous, needy and anxious.

Aries: March 21–April 19

  • The Aries symbol represents the head of a ram. Aries are said to be intense and confident people. They are impatient and brutally honest with opinions and may butt heads with others.

Taurus: April 20–May 20

  • The symbol for Taurus represents the head of a bull.  They are relentless and loyal, sometimes lazy and bullheaded (stereotypically).

  • The Virgo symbol is a bit of a mystery, some people believe the symbol is an M for maiden, representing the virgin with crossed legs or depicting human intestines (ew)!  Virgos are found to be organized and attentive but overly critical perfectionists who worry a lot.

Libra: September 23–October 23

The Libra symbol is also a bit of a mystery, either depicting a pair of scales or a setting sun.  The Libra is considered to be very clever and extroverted.  They are also social butterflies who care about vanity and avoid difficult decisions.

  • The Scorpio symbol represents a scorpion. Scorpios are often thrill-seekers who are envious and fascinated by the macabre.

Sagittarius: November 22–December 21

  • The Sagittarious symbol shows an arrow with a line going through it which represents a bow and arrow.  They are known to be highly adventurous independent people with lots of imagination.  However they can also be impatient and blunt.

This symbol represents a sea goat, a mythical creature which is half goat and half fish. Capricorns are said to be strong-willed and pragmatic, sticklers of rules and ruthless when upset.
